Te Hiku Manaiakalani Outreach 2 First Movie Festival

This year has been our first Te Hiku Movie Festival, the movies have been played on the big screen at the Te Ahu Cinema in Kaitaia on Thursday 7 November. This is one of the lucky movies to be chosen from our school. Congratulations to everyone involved in the production of this movie.

Afterwards, we made sure we got a photo with our lovely group on the red carpet. Can you believe it, Red Carpet! The students felt like stars!

Then we awarded them to a lovely Ice Cream or Frozen Coke for their amazing efforts! Ka Pai future film makers!

Tuakana Teina with Te Puawai

Today half our class went out for League with half of Te Puawai students.  The rest of Te Puawai joined us in Te Kauru to learn about quality blog commenting.  It was really nice to watch my senior students teaching younger students about what makes a quality blog comment.

Te Kauru students showed Te Puawai students our class site and where we find all our learning. There they pointed them to our Cybersmart learning focussing on Quality blog commenting, shared some of their own comments they had created that were quality, and showed them the quality blog commenting poster.

Manaiakalani Device Roll Out

Today, Paparore School had their device roll out to all the students to bought a chromebook through our Manaiakalani outreach trust. We had a total of 56 students receiving a chromebook!!

All the year 3-6 students were invited to the ceremony. The students were given their chromebook, and waited patiently while others received theirs.

The students were very excited to finally open their own chromebooks.

Afterwards, we had a game of Kahoot, and of course it was related to being Cyber Smart.

Well done Liv from Te Manga who was 1st place, and Bailey and Lyrik from Te Kauru received 2nd and 3rd place. Kei te pai!
